Iqbal Ahmed

Community Investment Associate

Iqbal joined NPower NY in February, 2006 as a Community Investment Associate.  Prior to joining NPower NY, Iqbal worked at FEGS where he coordinated Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) sponsored programs for out-of-school youth.  At FEGS, he also taught out-of school youth basic Microsoft Office, HTML, and work readiness skills.  A firm believer in social changes, Iqbal has worked in the nonprofit sector since he left college.  Iqbal's nonprofit work includes public relations, volunteer management, project management, classroom instruction, and web development.

Iqbal moved to the States from his native Bangladesh to attend University of Louisiana where he got his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.  Like many dreamers, Iqbal chased his dreams to the Big Apple after finishing college and has made it a home, at least for now.  In his spare time Iqbal plays for Columbia University’s cricket team in a local league.  He is also an insane fan of Brazil's soccer (football, actually) team.  While not playing cricket, Iqbal likes to go to movies and take pictures with his 35mm camera.
