TSC Job Developer
NPower NY is an affiliate of the NPower network, a federation of twelve independent nonprofits located throughout the United States. We help other nonprofits use technology to better serve their communities. NPower NY offers a continuum of technology services including consulting, training, and membership support.
NPower NY also operates an innovative and very successful workforce development program, Technology Service Corps, which trains talented New York City youth on computer basics, networking, and web development skills and then places them in organizations as junior technologists.
NPower NY seeks a committed, energetic TSC Job Developer who is responsible for leading TSC's activities in internship placement, job placement, career development, and higher education. The primary goals are to enable TSC students and graduates to secure employment and to support the pursuit of growth and continued education for all graduates. The Job Developer will work closely with TSC students, graduates, staff members and community partners.
Duties
Student Placement Activities
Assist program participants in developing career goals and job search activities.
Identifying and coordinate prospective technology task force projects, internships, and employment opportunities.
Provide ongoing job development services including building linkages with the nonprofit community.
Developing relationships with current and prospective internship sites and employers.
Work closely with TSC community to understand student and employer needs
Coordinate organizations linkage with network of educational, vocational and skill training service providers.
Staying current on trends in the job market and economy.
Help develop staffing services that are responsive to hiring community
Information / Relationship Tracking
Oversee TSC database post graduation statistics.
Survey program graduates and employers
Contribute to NPower NYs CRM System
Help develop better tracking systems for post TSC graduate tracking
Skills Needed:
Strong personal networking and relationship building skills
Well-organized, motivated individual, with excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
Job development / relationship building experience
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access & internet).
Willingness to work as part of a team in an entrepreneurial and diverse office.
