Backup Basics

One of the most important things about preventative maintenance and system care is the importance of regular, reliable data backup.   No matter how well you treat your technology, you cannot guarantee that your data will be safe if it exists in only one place.

eRider Starter Kit

Since 1997, there has been an emerging movement of technology assistance providers working in developing and transition countries.  These providers are known as eRiders, whose model is based on the Circuit Rider model used successfully in the US to provide non-profit organizations with assistance in using technology to build their capacities. eRiding is a model that has been effectively used internationally to bring struggling organizations up to speed in their use of technology to fulfill their mission.

Created by Teresa Crawford and the Tactical Technology Collective with the support of the global eRider community, the eRider Starter Kit is designed to help organizations understand, design, implement, maintain and sustain an eRider project or program. Learn more about the eRider Starter Kit here. The kit can also be downloaded as a PDF.

Donor Management Software

Without donors, nonprofits simply could not succeed. Understanding information about your donors is critical to your organization's success, and a more efficient system for storing, organizing, and viewing this information can help you achieve your mission. The NPower Network recently released an article outlining the common questions to ask before investing in a donor management software. The article also includes a great donor management comparison matrix you can download here.
